Day 1
Depart on your overnight flight to Mandalay if coming from the UK. Alternative flights from a range of destinations can also be arranged, or we can book your tour without flights if preferred.
Day 2
Arrive into Mandalay today, where you will be met by your private guide and driver. Transfer to your hotel, check in and relax for the afternoon. In the early evening you will enjoy a wonderful tour to discover the city come alive in the evening. Try some delicious local barbecue food in Chinatown and enjoy a live music performance in the city centre.
Day 3
Early risers can witness the morning alms giving ceremony around the city, before you depart on your full day tour of Mandalay and the surroundings. Start with a private boat tour to Mingun, visit the local markets and a visit to the former Royal Capital of Amarapura. Along the way stop to explore local craft workshops and finish your day with a sunset walk along the ancient teak U Bein Bridge.
Day 4
For tours between September-March, take a day cruise down the Irrawaddy to reach Bagan. Stop along the way at a local village and learn more about life in rural Burma. If the river levels are too low, we recommend taking the short flight to Bagan and enjoy the rest of the day sightseeing around the temple studded plains.
Day 5
This morning enjoy a private guided tour of Bagan to give you a perfect introduction to these fascinating ancient temples. Spend the afternoon at your leisure or continue exploring at your own pace.
Day 6
Morning flight to Inle Lake. After checking in, depart on a fascinating sightseeing tour of Inle Lake - pass by leg rowing fishermen, floating gardens and visit the local villages which are stilted above the lakes waters and dotted along the shores.
Day 7
Today we have included a choice of tours for you to pick from; Kayaking around the floating villages and narrow canal ways, a cycling tour around the lakeside villages to the local winery or a local life tour where you will get the chance to join the fishermen, catch your lunch and enjoy a cooking experience. Alternatively, spend the day at your leisure and explore at your own pace
Day 8
Morning flight to Thandwe to end your holiday relaxing on breathtakingly beautiful Ngapali Beach.
Day 9
Day at your leisure relaxing on the beach
Day 10
Second day at your leisure on the beach
Day 11
Afternoon flight back to Yangon before being transferred to your hotel. Enjoy an evening visit to the magical Shwedagon Pagoda the most revered Buddhist monument in the country.
Day 12
Options today could include a trip on the circular railway to gain an insight into local life while in the evening you could take a walking food tour of little India and Chinatown.
Day 13
Morning transfer to the airport to head back home after a wonderful tour of Burma

Your highlights tour of Burma will allow you to delve into local life with a ride on the city circle train in Yangon, a city famous for its colorful bustling streets with locals paying their respects at the most revered Buddhist site in the country, the gleaming Shwedagon Pagoda. A day cruise down the Irrawaddy River will allow you an intimate overview of local life on the banks of this mighty stretch of water and allow you to spend more time exploring the country rather than sitting in an airport.

You will explore the ancient capitals which are dotted around the city of Mandalay and give a glimpse of the architectural past. An optional night time tour of Mandalay will allow you to gain a more relaxed view of the city. After dark is when the city will come to life, street-side hawker stalls springing up and the smells of tasty snacks filling your nostrils. Inle Lake is probably the most stunning location in Burma and we will even give you the option to learn how to fish and cook traditional local food in the middle of Inle Lake.

This journey will really allow you to get under the skin of this fascinating country and meet some of the most welcoming people in Asia.
